What’s in a name?

Posted in Uncategorized on August 27, 2008 by illustrativeimages

We’ve been searching our souls, looking for a name that really and truly resonates with our style of business, and reflects who we are.  After much agonizing, we’ve decided on w gallerie, we were looking for something shorter (thank GOD) and something that speaks to the art we create.

Our focus is and will continue to be creating one of a kind pieces of art for your home that feature the ones you love the most.  Though we use the medium of photography, it is the first step in our lengthy design process.  Taking the photographs is just the beginning.

Our new name will be a slow transition as I work over the winter to create an all new website. it’s address will be www.wgallerie.com  Don’t check it out yet, we only own the domain name right now and as soon as I catch up on clients work, I will be starting the process.  Until then we will use the illustrative images name, so please, if you pass our name on to your friends and family let them know what’s going on.

What colors do you think we should choose to represent us?  I was thinking more in the earth tone area, to convey the warmth of family, but would love to hear what you think.  Drop me a line.

Seniors, Yes we still have 8 appointments left.

This year we tried something new.  We went on location for senior portraits.  About half our clients chose this option, the other half came to the studio.

Keisha, one of our models was photographed at home and in the true spirit of truly being able to photograph anywhere, I saw this porta pottie on their lawn and matched up the colors with her shirt.

This was the final image from the porta potty.  Looks pretty great!

I told Woody that this proves, “We make crap fantastic!”  :0)

I love the low dramatic angle and the lighting SCREAMS!  Great job WOODY!

Her illustration is one of our favorites this year.

Natalie & Grant June 14, 2008

We were so grateful to work with Natalie and Grant Morfitt during the last year.  They choose the phrase “Today I marry my best friend…” as their theme.  It appeared everywhere from the aisle runner, to the programs.  And it was so fitting for the 2 of them.

Their June wedding took place at St. John’s Lutheran Church and then the reception was at Park Place.  The red, gold and ivory color sheme was very sophisticated and fit in perfectly in the ballroom.

One of my favorite elements was Natalie’s Bird Cage veil.  I’ve never had the chance to work with one of these, but had always wanted to.

This was one of my favorite album pages created from images from the formal bridal session.  The tulips were in full bloom since we did it in May and we could take our time finding little areas that made amazing photographs.  We spent 3 hours at Park Place Event Centre and it made for incredible images!

I love this one too because I personally LOVE petal tosses at weddings.  It is tres romantic!!  I especially love the image of Natalie hugging the pastor, there is so much emotion there.  And it just happens to be Grant’s grandpa!

BAD BAD BLOGGER :(

It’s been awhile.  I missed you too!  I promise to start updating once a week from now on.  We’ve been in hyper spaz mode at the studio in the middle of the busiest months on our schedule July, August, and September.  Most of our weddings and almost all of our seniors are photographed at this time so the workflow is crippling.  And I felt guilty spending time on the blog when your  images were needing attention.

But I’m getting back on the horse.
